UPLAND DIVORCE ATTORNEY
CHRISTINE D. THIELO
"It has been said, 'Good things come to those who wait.' I have waited and waited and waited some more. Almost three years of waiting is what it took for my divorce to be over. Throughout this long process the Law offices of Christine Thielo have become a refuge for me and my loved ones. I have depended on them to get me through my most pressured moments. When my EX-wife created obstacles for the divorce proceedings to continue, Christine and her staff have come through and forced the issues to move forward. Above all, I thank GOD for putting these professionals in my path. I thank Christine for her dedication and commitment. I thank Wil for all his efforts and I thank the rest of the staff for their assistance. Thank you all for making the divorce procedures come to a close. I may have lost a wife but I gained a few valuable friends in you."

Contested Divorce Cases in California
A divorce case begins with a Petition for a Dissolution of Marriage which is filed with the Superior Court. One of the spouses will file the Petition and the other spouse will become the Respondent. In a contested divorce, the parties involved are not able to agree on all of the divorce-related issues, such as child custody, child support, spousal support, property and debt division, payment of attorney fees and court costs. These issues will then have to be resolved through the courts. Furthermore, if there has been a domestic violence situation in the marriage, this issue will impact the divorce in such matters as child custody and visitation.
Marital Property Division
In any divorce, you and your spouse will have to come to an agreement about the division of marital property and debts. If you do not agree on the details of this issue, it will be determined by the courts. California is a community property state, which means that the assets and property will be divided in as equal and fair a manner as possible.
Division of Assets and Debts in a Divorce
Several steps will be required in order to resolve this issue in a contested divorce. First of all, all of your property and assets will have to be distinguished as to whether they are marital or separate property. After this, the property will need to be appraised or valued. Then the courts can divide the marital property and assets as evenly as possible, taking into consideration all of the pertinent facts concerning the property and the case involved.
Divorce Lawyer Christine D.Thielo will work vigorously to help you settle any disagreements you may have with your spouse concerning divorce related issues. If these issues cannot be settled outside of court, she will aggressively represent you and your interests in the courtroom.
During any contested divorce trial which can take 6 months or more to resolve, you may need to obtain certain orders from the court, such as those for child support, spousal support, property possession, restraining orders, or move-out orders. Divorce Attorney Christine D.Thielo
